CJR in the National Spotlight: Watch Us on ABC's "The Advocates"

Building Trust, Confidence,
 and Real Life Skills

For more than a century, CJR’s Vo-Ag Program has helped thousands of young people build stability, confidence, and transferable life skills, and it continues to do so every day through hands-on learning in:

Animal Science and Care

Aquaculture and Greenhouse Management

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Environmental Stewardship and Land Management

Horticulture and Plant Science

Landscaping and Forestry

But what the segment captures so well is deeper truth: For many CJR youth, caring for animals may be the first time they feel trusted — or the first time they experience a calm, consistent bond. That connection can be healing and life-changing. And, the experience will travel with them through life. When a young person gains stability, purpose, and skills, the ripple effect extends outward, strengthening families, improving long-term outcomes, and helping communities thrive over multiple generations.
